Roosevelt N. Nesmith has litigated complex consumer and commercial lawsuits in federal and state courts in New York, New Jersey and throughout the country for over 25 years.

He has represented plaintiffs in more than 10 consumer class action cases in just the past 4 years. Class members have recovered millions of dollars in settlements from defendants in these actions. He also represents employees in class and collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage and hour laws. Mr. Nesmith’s practice is not limited to class actions. He also represents individuals that have been harmed by the wrongful conduct of financial institutions in mortgage and insurance-related transactions.

Mr. Nesmith was a senior litigator at the New York law firm of Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler for 10 years. There he represented Fortune 500 corporations in complex business disputes, including a principal defendant in one of the largest class action cases, In re Brand Name Prescription Drug Antitrust Litigation.

Mr. Nesmith’s client took the case to trial and secured a directed verdict in its favor. Mr. Nesmith also worked at the firm of New Jersey firm of Lite DePalma & Greenburg and in the private sector before focusing his practice on representing individuals and consumers at his own firm.
